WELCOME TO GRASS LAKE MIDDLE SCHOOL


The staff at Grass Lake Middle School provides an exciting and innovative environment in which we strive to maximize success in all of our students, while working to optimize communications between school and home. Middle School Orientation for Parents of Current 5th Graders Set for May 5 -
An orientation will be held in the Grass Lake Middle School Media Center on Tuesday, May 5, for parents of current George Long Elementary School 5th graders preparing them for their children's upcoming move to the Middle School. The meeting will begin at 6:00 PM.

Mrs. Amburgey Wins Prestigious Award
Congratulations to GLMS teacher, Mrs. Jessica Amburgey who has been awarded the Promising Young Educator Award for the state of Michigan by MAMSE (Michigan Association of Middle and School Educators). She will be receiving the award at the MAMSE Conference in March! We’re very proud of all the hard work, innovations and technology applications Jessica uses in her classroom on a daily basis.


​GLMS School-Wide Spelling Bee Results
With the start of the New Year brings on Spelling Bee season across this country.  GLMS gets very excited this time of year and the staff and students rally around our spellers.  We had our school-wide bee last week and our very excited to announce the students who will be representing Grass Lake at the South Central Michigan Bee at Western High School on March 18, 2015.  Our champions are: 5th Grader, Ashley Stapleton; 6th Grader, Chad Henneman; 7th Grader, Elle Durkee; and 8th Grader Sean Hickey.

Grass Lake Baton Twirlers Successful at State Championships
Congratulations to our Grass Lake students who are members of the Grass Lake Twirlettes who participated with the Saline Twirlettes on November 22, at Saline High School at the State Baton Twirling Championships who placed and won state titles and championships. Shop Rat is a Hit at GLMS
Thanks to Grass Lake Middle School teacher George Gogol's coordination with The Shop Rat Foundation, our 6th grade students were introduced to manufacturing concepts for the second consecutive year. These lessons are related to STEM education. (Science, Technology, Engineering, Math) to provide hands-on learning opportunities for our students. The Shop Rat program at GLMS joins the successful GLMS Robotics teams as STEM opportunities.
